I am still an undergraduate and I have a sister who had just graduated from USM Malaysia local university. Chatted with her few days ago, she mentioned about few of her secondary schoolmates who graduated from local universities too. I was a bit shocked when I get to know that some of her friends are still unemployed and some are joining industries that are totally different from the course they took in university.
Now, let me reorganize what I am trying to write now. Are these two cases related? Yeah, somehow, I think it is related. These two cases basically showing two majority types of fresh graduates: those who simply want to get a job that PAY them so as to enable them to survive in this society, and those who wish to get their ideal job, regardless of how long it will take to make their dreamed job comes true.
So, what do you think now? If you are fresh graduate or an undergraduate, I believe you will have your own dream, your desire job that guarantees your future? You entered university and took the course that related to your ambition. Anyhow, when you are unable to get the job that fulfill your requirements, you get frustrated, and because of you are living in this cruel society which prices are raising drastically but salary will never increase in the same rate, will you eventually deviate from your “huge” ambition and surrender to the reality—accepting a job that might be totally different from what you desired?
Well, I support the saying stating that every trade has its master, but for me, I still wish to be in the industry I wish to be. Some fresh graduates give up and join other industry after few attempts and all turns to be zero. However, do not lost the inner you. You should know what you want and work for it. Now, let’s think about the causes that contribute to the failure. Is this caused by your poor performance in interview? Low quality resume that you submitted? Or maybe, you should try to enter small company, gain experience and prepare yourself better to enter a big organization?
You may learn on the necessary skills to secure you to get your desire job from the previous blog posts, and here are the links, good luck! =)
