Dear jobseeker, do you know?
Posted December 17th, 2008 by SamanthaThroughout the years in the industry, I hardly understand a young jobseekers mind. I just have a few questions running through my mind:
Do you know that your resume photo should be decent and professional looking?
If yes, why do you still send in photos with low cut blouse, worn-out T-shirt, and a super-cute, self-snapped pose?
Do you know that job hopping is a death sentence to your career?
Please stop hopping every 6 months or 1 year. Employer can’t find a reason to hire you.
Do you know what qualifies you to ask for a higher salary?
Your salary = your value. If an employer pays you this much, they expect you to return this much to the company. If someone can work better than you with the same amount of salary, you are over-valued and you don’t deserve it. And don’t ever ask any more unless you increase your values.
Do you know you should upgrade your skills?
Kept asking why your boss give you lower increment year by year even though times are good? It’s time to wake up and pick up new skills to value add yourself. If increment is compulsory to you, you should learn some new skills NOW. Stop hopping to another job and say it’s office politic.
